Help us unlock the #PowerOfPlay for every kid, everywhere!
Nearly 5 million children have quit sports in the past decade.
In 2018, only 38% of kids ages 6 to 12 played team or individual sports on a regular basis. This is down from 45% in 2008. That's nearly 5 million children who have quit sports within the past 10 years. According to the National Survey of Children's Health, only 24% of youth ages 6 to 17 engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day. A recent New York Times article cited a study that showed that children 6 to 18 are playing 50% less than before the health crisis. It also showed that 30% of youth who were playing sports before the pandemic were not likely to go back without a major intervention.
With childhood obesity becoming an epidemic in the United States, it should come as no surprise that many Kids are becoming more unhealthy. 1 in 5 school age children in America is obese. This will cause long term health implications that will adversely impact the next generation.
It's more important than ever that we unlock the #powerofplay for every kid, everywhere.
Together we can combat this and create a new reality.
This campaign is about more than money- it's about changing the trajectory of health for youth in America.
Give the gift of play by supporting our campaign TODAY!
